B.E.S.T. Program Coach (Middle/High School) 

This position requires up to 35 hours per week. The NVCA B.E.S.T. Coach will:

  • Support our program and mission;
  • Support NVCA families through relationship building;
  • Work closely with current staff as part of a team;
  • Work one-on-one with 6–12th grade students;
  • Participate in staff meetings and other professional development training; and
  • Work one-on-one with middle school/high school students across multiple academic areas. 

Qualified individual will:

  • Have experience working with students with different abilities;
  • Be dependable and flexible;
  • Possess a nurturing, patient, and caring attitude;
  • Display strong oral and written communication skills; and
  • Possess some proficiency in Spanish (not required).

K-5 Instructional Aide

Definition:

Assist certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individuals or small groups of students; monitor and report student progress. Perform a variety of clerical duties in support of the academic program; other related duties as required.

Examples of Duties/Essential Functions:

• Support and maintain classroom policies.
• Tutor individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Assist in the administering and scoring a variety of tests according to student performance and behavior.
• Perform routine clerical duties; operate classroom and office equipment including computers and other equipment.
• Assist students by providing proper examples, emotional support, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
• Direct group activities of students assigned; assist in monitoring students as directed.
• Confer, as needed, with teachers concerning programs and materials to meet student needs.
• Participate in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: 

• Education AA Degree, 48 semester units of higher education
• Current Fingerprint Clearance Card

Experience:

Experience working with K-5 students

Job Description:

Substitute Teacher

An individual holding this position instructs students and facilitates student learning in the absence of the regular teacher. Essential duties and responsibilities are to:

  • Support and maintain classroom policies;
  • Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans;
  • Create a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students;
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment;
  • Maintain the established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned;
  • Maintain a professional appearance as an example to students;
  • Remain at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by the principal;
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities;
  • Maintain reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility;
  • Communicate effectively with parents when needed;
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated; and
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

  • Have 6 months of teaching experience in an Early Childhood setting

  • Helping teachers by giving breaks and floating between classrooms
  • Helping children as necessary throughout the day
  • Getting snacks ready and delivering to classrooms
  • Supporting families through communication and relationship building
  • Working closely with current staff as part of a team
  • Participate in staff meetings and other professional development training

Qualified individuals will:

  • Have earned a High School Diploma or GED
  • Have previous experience (preferred, but willing to train)
  • Be dependable and flexible
  • Possess nurturing and caring attitude
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills

Elementary School Teacher
