Preschool Assistant Teacher 

North Valley Christian Academy is hiring for our Preschool program and we are looking for a highly qualified, loving and passionate Assistant Teacher in our Christian school environment.  The position requires up to 29 hours per week working a fixed schedule.

 

Assistant Teacher Duties include:

  • Willingness to support our program and mission as well as state licensing guidelines
  • Helping to carry out written lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate
  • Supporting families through relationship building
  • Working closely with current staff as part of a team
  • Participate in staff meetings and other professional development training

 

Qualifications:

  • 6 months of teaching experience in an Early Childhood setting
  • Dependable and flexible
  • Nurturing and caring attitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Part Time History Teacher (Middle/High School)

Desire for candidates to have classroom teaching experience and hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.  Prefer candidates to possess or working towards an Arizona Teacher’s Certification. B.E.S.T. Program Coach (Middle/High School) 

This position requires up to 35 hours per week. The NVCA B.E.S.T. Coach will:

  • Support our program and mission;
  • Support NVCA families through relationship building;
  • Work closely with current staff as part of a team;
  • Work one-on-one with 6–12th grade students;
  • Participate in staff meetings and other professional development training; and
  • Work one-on-one with middle school/high school students across multiple academic areas. 

Qualified individual will:

  • Have experience working with students with different abilities;
  • Be dependable and flexible;
  • Possess a nurturing, patient, and caring attitude;
  • Display strong oral and written communication skills; and
  • Possess some proficiency in Spanish (not required).

Elementary School Teacher

Special Education Teacher

This position requires up to 30 hours per week. Qualified candidate will:

  • Support our program and mission;
  • Support families through relationship building;
  • Work closely with current staff as part of a team;
  • Work one-on-one with K–12 students;
  • Participate in staff meetings and other professional development training;
  • Set learning goals for each student, assess their progress, and record their evaluations utilizing a team approach;
  • Provide specialized instruction for K–12 students in the area of math, and reading, and writing; and
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, the school psychologist, B.E.S.T. coaches, the school counselor, and speech/language therapists to provide an integrated and specialized plan for developing students academically, socially, and spiritually.

  • A degree in special education.

Substitute Teacher

An individual holding this position instructs students and facilitates student learning in the absence of the regular teacher. Essential duties and responsibilities are to:

  • Support and maintain classroom policies;
  • Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans;
  • Create a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students;
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment;
  • Maintain the established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned;
  • Maintain a professional appearance as an example to students;
  • Remain at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by the principal;
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities;
  • Maintain reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility;
  • Communicate effectively with parents when needed;
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated; and
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
