Full-Time Preschool Teacher Assistant

Part-Time Technology Assistant

Job Summary: The technology assistant works with, and is under the supervision of, the technology coordinator to maintain and repair the IT systems of the school. The technology assistant will:

  • Help faculty, staff, and students with technological issues;
  • Track inventory;
  • Set up computers and iPads;
  • Learn, maintain, and troubleshoot facility technological systems; and
  • Set up and operate technology at school-related special events.

Reading Intervention Specialist

Job Summary: North Valley Christian Academy is seeking part time and/or full-time professionals to provide short-term reading intervention, administer screeners and assessments, and optimize appropriate accommodations for at-risk students, grades K-12.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education with a Reading Endorsement or specialized Certification in the area of Structured Literacy.
● Experience directing and implementing Tier 1 and Tier 2 reading intervention in a successful RTI program.
● Trained with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with Lindamood Bell Programs to plan, pace, and deliver instruction.
● Strong knowledge of the phonetic rules of the English language, phonemic awareness, multisensory instruction, and Orton Gillingham strategies.
● Administration and Interpretation of assessments including Aimsweb Plus, CTOPP 2, GORT 5, LAC 3, SI Assessment, etc.
● Data collection for progress monitoring
● Experience creating individualized plans to include appropriate accommodations for diverse SLD diagnosis.
● Collaboration with parents, teachers, DVUSD, and outside support teams.
● Solid communication skills
● Preferred background experience in the classroom as teacher and/or inclusion specialist.

Preschool and Elementary Musical Theater Teacher

Job Summary: The instructor will provide a Christ-centered and biblically-based education in music, theatre, and dance. The position is for a mobile instructor who can rotate to each Preschool and K-5 class. The instructor will combine the Quaver Music Curriculum with their own musical theatre curriculum. The instructor should also be able to carry out all duties associated with facilitating a safe learning environment.

Applicants need to be experienced with music, theatre, and early childhood education. Applicants must possess strong classroom management in early childhood education. Applicants need to comply with all state certifications and school requirements.

Middle School/High School Math Academic Coach

Middle School and High School Band and Orchestra Teacher

Job Summary: The position is for a full-time instructor to build a band and orchestra program through daily classes and after-school programs. The instructor will provide a Christ-centered and biblically-based education in music and demonstrate a passion for ministering to students.

Part-Time School Nurse

Job Summary: The position is for a part-time school nurse (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) who will be responsible for the healthcare of preschool-grade 12 students,  administer prescribed medications, administer PRN medications, provide first aid care and assessment, promote healthcare education to students, staff and families, keep detailed records and communicate with families promptly, and help coordinate routine health screenings.

High School (grades 9-12) Physical Sciences Teacher

Job Summary: We are accepting applications for a high school history teacher for the 2024-25 School Year. Qualifications:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Education, with an emphasis in the area of instruction, or a related area.
  • Prepare appropriate weekly lesson plans that facilitate active learning, effectively utilizing the basic elements of instruction including instructional objectives, planned activities, Biblical integration, and assessments, all while incorporating classroom technology to enhance instruction. 
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to inspire student learning, including the understanding of the knowledge and characteristics of the age group taught.
  • Effectively manage classroom and discipline procedures to provide a positive Christ-centered classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Evidence of a personal Christian faith consistent with the North Valley Christian Academy Statement of Faith including being an active church member and exhibiting a close personal walk with Jesus Christ: modeling an exemplary Biblical lifestyle and evidencing maturity in the understanding and integration of sound Biblical principles in the classroom.

Extended Care

Job Summary: North Valley Christian Academy is hiring for our morning and/or afternoon Extended Care program and we are looking for a highly qualified, loving, and passionate teacher in our Christian school environment.  The position requires up to 25 hours per week working a fixed schedule.

Teacher Duties include:

  • Ability to support our program and mission as well as state licensing guidelines
  • Planning daily activities with written lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate
  • Supporting families through communication and relationship building
  • Working closely with current staff as part of a team
  • Participate in staff meetings and other professional development training

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 months of teaching experience in an early childhood setting and an associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, child development, or a closely-related field; or 6 months experience in an early childhood setting and a high school diploma or GED; or 12 credit hours in early childhood, child development, or closely related field; or a CDA, NAC or CCP credential.

Substitute Teacher

Job Summary: An individual holding this position instructs students and facilitates student learning in the absence of the regular teacher. Essential duties and responsibilities are to:

  • Support and maintain classroom policies;
  • Provide classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans;
  • Create a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students;
  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment;
  • Maintain the established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned;
  • Maintain a professional appearance as an example to students;
  • Remain at school the entire school day, unless otherwise instructed to leave by the principal;
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities;
  • Maintain reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility;
  • Communicate effectively with parents when needed;
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated; and
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
