God is able to do abundantly beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works within us (Eph. 3:20).
Originally housed on the campus of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Anthem, Arizona, NVCA was established in 2010. In fall of 2013, NVCA moved to temporary facilities until relocating to its newly constructed campus just south of Anthem in August 2017. The NVCA campus was expressly designed to support a twenty-first century learning model delivered in a Christ-centered environment. We offer a secure campus with modern facilities including flexible classrooms, a science laboratory, state-of-the-art technology, a full gymnasium, cafeteria, music room, worship/arts center, and more. NVCA is fully accredited by CogniaTM and NLSA.
Education at North Valley Christian Academy is approached from a biblical perspective that recognizes the sovereignty and authority of God. A carefully selected curriculum academically challenges lower, middle, and high school students while upholding the Christian standards we seek to develop. Our traditions are inspired by God and upheld to glorify Him. Visitors regularly comment on NVCA's unique, loving environment. As Christian educators, teachers are recognized for their caring, nurturing, and loving ways while teaching students about God’s purpose, His love, and His will for their lives.
NVCA employs an advanced platform of educational technology; it is utilized as a key learning tool for fact-based knowledge acquisition, enabling students to conduct research using the internet and other digital tools. We believe that technology is an invaluable component in the development of critical thinking and literacy skills, promoting collaboration and project-based learning among students and teachers. Technology enhances creative growth and expression allowing different mediums to be used across the entire curriculum. The purposeful integration of learning and technology is an important component of the well-rounded and specialized academic program at NVCA. Integrated throughout our state-of-the-art campus, technology provides and enhances a wealth of learning and teaching opportunities that otherwise would not be possible. Students in grades 6–12 are required to provide their own suitable device, utilizing NVCA's specifications for minimum hardware and software requirements and recommendations.
The development of healthy emotional and social intelligence is an important aspect of a solid program of education. Along with NVCA's core educational program, founded in the liberal arts tradition, we are also committed to the integration of the nationally recognized Core Knowledge curriculum. Our comprehensive program fully prepares students for the twenty-first century. We focus on building life, relational, technological, and critical thinking skills. These areas of learning are complemented by opportunities to grow emotionally and artistically in athletics, music, and the fine arts. NVCA carries accreditation with Cognia and the National Lutheran School Accreditation (NLSA). As affiliated members, NVCA has the support of these associations for early-education programs and primary and secondary certification of curriculum. Accreditation recognizes and validates NVCA's: clear vision and purpose; commitment to improving the curriculum; quality of learning and instruction; and effort to continually improve the educational experience, allowing all learners to reach their full, God-given potential.
