Is the school calendar for the online the same as the on-campus school?
Both calendars are the same. Online classes are not self-paced; they are structured the same as the on-campus classes.
Will students have the use of live video instruction?
Designated video class instructional times are available to online students and vary depending on the class.
What is the primary method of instruction?
Online students will be independent learners who receive scheduled direct instruction, teaching, and tutoring via Zoom.
Are students required to attend each online class as if attending a traditional ground class?
All students are required to attend each scheduled, live online class via Zoom. Other study times will be verified via the log-in and log-off feature of the learning application.
Is the online program as rigorous as the on-campus program?
Both programs are synchronized covering the same objectives, benchmarks, quizzes, and tests, although the platform and the way learning occurs is different.
What courses are offered online?
NVCA offers several of its in-person courses in a completely online format. Additionally, NVCA has partnered with Orange Lutheran Academy to provide an additional selection of online offerings. However, any courses NVCA online offers must be taken through NVCA. The full list of OLA online offerings is found here. Contact an NVCA academic advisor if you wish to take an online course.
Can I take courses from a different online school (EdOptions, Primavera, etc)?
Starting Fall 2022, NVCA partnered with Orange Lutheran Academy to offer additional online electives and any core courses that NVCA does not offer at this time. Registration and billing for OLA courses is completed through NVCA. Any student wishing to take an online course with a school other than OLA will need to obtain prior approval from an NVCA academic advisor and/or administrator.
What is the tuition rate for online courses?
Hybrid students (4 on-ground courses and 3 or 4 online courses) - $8750 per year
OLA courses - regular tuition rate + $100 per course
