Is the school calendar for the online the same as the on-campus school?

Both calendars are the same. Online classes are not self-paced; they are structured the same as the on-campus classes.

Will students have the use of live video instruction?

Designated video class instructional times are available to online students and vary depending on the class. 

What is the primary method of instruction?

Online students will be independent learners who receive scheduled direct instruction, teaching, and tutoring via Zoom. 

Are students required to attend each online class as if attending a traditional ground class? 

All students are required to attend each scheduled, live online class via Zoom. Other study times will be verified via the log-in and log-off feature of the learning application. 

Is the online program as rigorous as the on-campus program?

Both programs are synchronized covering the same objectives, benchmarks, quizzes, and tests, although the platform and the way learning occurs is different. 

What courses are offered online?

NVCA offers several of its in-person courses in a completely online format. Additionally, NVCA has partnered with Seven Star to provide an additional selection of online offerings. However, any courses NVCA online offers must be taken through NVCA. Contact Bobbi Barela, our NVCA academic advisor, if you wish to take an online course. 

Can I take courses from a different online school (EdOptions, Primavera, etc)?

NVCA partners with Seven Star to offer additional online electives and any core courses that NVCA does not offer at this time. Registration and billing for Seven Star courses is completed through NVCA. Any student wishing to take an online course with a school other than Seven Star needs to obtain prior approval from Bobbi Barela, our NVCA academic advisor.
